Istanbul University Solar Car Racing Team
In spite of participating our first international race, we took 8th place in World Solar Challenge 2011 which was held in Australia on 16-23 October 2011.
We are going to publish a race diary which includes our gains from WSC as soon as possible.

Without a doubt, the most important process of a solar car project is the test-drive.
Within this period, we are able to observe the mechanical, electrical and aerodynamic behaviors of the vehicle, determine the needs and act accordingly.
After getting the required issues, we prepared our escort vehicles ready for the test-drive.
For any case of an accident, we have placed all the fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, vests with proper signs on them as well as all the sign boards in the escort cars.

SOCRAT

Istanbul University Solar Car Racing Team (SOCRAT) was named the champion of the 7th Annual Tubitak Formula-G Solar Car Race. SOCRAT car has started the race at the first position after finishing first at the pole position race. The team has earned their third championship after completing 20 laps.
With its unique electronically design, the SOCRAT car has been rewarded with the “2011 Best Design” award by the authorities.
SOCRAT consists of student members, Murat Altug, Tolga Baykal, Sertel Tanta, Gokhan Erdogan, Serdar Zurnaci, Ertunc Kirgul, Esat Erturk, Orcun Karadeniz, Faruk Toptas together with the project consultant Prof. Dr. Ilhan
